Gumbo funk. Go Mystikal, go Mystikal, GO!
Errythang real big.
If these are the type of jams on Juvey's mixtape, I can't wait til the album drops.
So the travel gods were not kind over the weekend. Otherwise Pittsburgh was a blast! More on that soon. In the meantime lets get moving with the 7th of the 17 Days of Dosvecmas. This time DJ Whatt brings us some Birdman and Lil Weezy over Phoenix, for Stuntin like 1901. Enjoy.

Good to hear these new orleans legends back at it and all on the same joint.

New Juvenile. Good to hear new juvenile. This is probably the most radio friendly song he has ever made, ever. Back That Azz Up kind of broke ground for the radio, it wasn't really made for the radio. I can't think of any song with as much bounce influence as that making it to top 40 before Back That Azz Up. Anyway this record just feels like a pop record from the start. Oddly enough I don't hate it. I actually have kind of had it stuck on repeat.
OK first spotted this write up this morning at nolabounce.com. The cool cats over at Amoeba wrote quite the piece on the history of Cash Money Records. Going way, way back to before I knew they even existed. And believe me I have some old stuff I managed to find in used CD shops. LIl Slim, Pimp Daddy, UNLV, some crazy shit was going on way back in the day. This write up tells the tale of one of the big labels that shaped the sound of rap music today. Check out the whole story of the indy years of Cash Money Records at Amoeba. Seriously if for no other reason than to look at their old ridiculous CD covers. And there are tons collected in the article.
Where is the bling? Sorry whody, no hip new dance tunes, just an old school record from the bottom of the map. At one time I posted another Pimp Daddy song. Check out the old school bounce write up from when I first found Nola Bounce.com.
