Tim Gunter is a 22 year old producer living in Raleigh, NC attending North Carolina State University. Over the past two years, he’s worked with a rapper producing hip-hop, pop, and electro and just recently (within the past month) he has decided to pursue his own career as a producer/DJ. Before working with the rapper, he made a small name for myself by remixing popular rap songs with electronic music on a mixtape called “Dance To This,” very similar to A-Trak’s Dirty South Dance Volumes.
As you’ll see in the remix below, he likes to combine several genres of music when he produces. Even though the track’s foundation is electro house, he’s used elements of Dirty South hip hop as well as sampling. The track contains samples from a Tittsworth & Ayres club breaks record, Havana Brown’s “We Run The Night,” as well as sampled drums in addition to all original production. Some of Tim’s major influences are A-Trak, Calvin Harris, Diplo, DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Timbaland and Pharrell.
