The internet is going nuts. Pioneer just dropped a video of Qbert and Shortkut (below) explaining why the PLX-1000 is the truth and also showing off how much better they can scratch than everyone else (on any kind of turntable).
Pioneer promises the deck to have the stability, high torque, and other basic high quality 1200 features we've grown to love. It also features the ability to swap your RCA's in the back, which is tremendous.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has taken the plunge into the Reloop RP-8000 world already. It looks like Reloop now has some competition in the post Technics turntable world. Personally I have 3 1200's and would love to match up the odd man out to make 2 sets. Used 1200's are crazy expensive (obviously, after they got discontinued) so hopefully either the Pioneer PLX-1000 or the Reloop RP-8000 will make for a suitable, and familiar replacement.
If the PLX-1000 is a hit, who knows maybe people will go back to just trying to get rid of their 1200's again too. A boy can dream anyway...
